Youth & Young Adult Programs

General Community Services

  1. Heiltsuk Kaxla Society: Family Support

    Non-profit Aboriginal agency that provides voluntary respite & relief services for caregivers, referrals, emotional support, youth activities, parent wellness groups, AA, social groups, in-home teaching & support, family preservation & reunification.

  2. Heiltsuk Kaxla Society: Child and Youth

    Non-profit Aboriginal agency that provides voluntary one-to-one child support, Indigenous infant development (0-3), supported child development (0-19), parent drop-in groups, developmental screenings, one-to-one parenting support.

  3. Heiltsuk Kaxla Society: Community

    Non-profit delegated Aboriginal agency that offers homecoming ceremonies, uplifting ceremonies, Kunsoot Wellness Centre, community lunches, outdoor excursions, wellness events, tribal journeys, and traditional food harvesting.

  4. Heiltsuk Health Centre Programs: Sasum House Program

    Improves health outcomes for pregnant First Nations women and families with children ages 0 to 6 years, who live on reserve to implement a comprehensive programs and to identify opportunities to enhancing children’s learning and development.

  5. Heiltsuk Health Centre Programs: Health Families Program

    Offers and promotes well-being of community members through the implementation of holistic healthy families programs. Operates a comprehensive dental treatment program, communicable disease control, diabetes prevention, and chronic disease control programs

  6. Heiltsuk Health Centre Programs: Patient Transportation Program

    Administers a Health Canada non-insured health benefits program that provides Registered Indians on reserve with transportation to the nearest appropriate medical or health related facility located off reserve to receive health related services.
