Community Based Services for Mental Health

  1. Ministry of Children & Family Development: Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH)

    Children and youth can access free and voluntary community-based mental health supports and services in BC.

  2. Vancouver Coastal Health: Vocational Team (The Source Club)

    A non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational, recreational and life skills programs for persons with mental illness.

General Community Services

  1. Lift Resources

    Lift Community Services focuses on helping all people thrive in the qathet region by reducing social inequities and by providing support and advocacy for anyone who needs it.

  2. Tla'amin Health

    Tla’amin Health provides a full range of primary, secondary, and tertiary health services for community members living within the Tla’amin Nation and to First Nations people in the remote coastal communities in the Powell River area.

  3. Powell River Child, Youth, and Family Services Society

    Powell River Child, Youth & Family Services Society is a non-profit society and a registered charity which provides programs and support services for young people from birth to 19 years of age, and their families.

  4. Powell River Community Services Association

    The Powell River Community Services Association provides police based victim support services, specialized victim support services, and poverty law advocate services.

Adult & Older Adult Programs

Community Based Services for Mental Health

  1. Vancouver Coastal Health: Older Adult Mental Health Team

    Provides assessments, consultation, treatment, case management, & rehabilitation for older adults 65+ who have recently developed a mental health problem, have high risk behaviours related to dementia, & have medical problems that complicate treatment.

  2. Vancouver Coastal Health: Adult Assessment and Treatment Services

    Counselling support for adults with mental health and/or substance use issues

  3. Vancouver Coastal Health: Adult Community Support Services

    Case management supports for individuals with long term/chronic mental illness. Includes outreach supports for individuals to assists with ADLs

  4. Vancouver Coastal Health: Vocational Team (The Source Club)

Community Based Service for Substance Use

  1. Vancouver Coastal Health: Overdose Outreach Team

    Provides intensive supports for individuals who have received overdose and/or are at high risk of overdose. Short term counselling and connection to other community supports, including OAT.

  2. Vancouver Coastal Health: Intensive Case Management

    Supports for individuals with moderate to severe substance use disorder. May or may not have additional mental health issues

Hospital Based Services

  1. Vancouver Coastal Health: Mental Health Emergency Nurse

    Provides walk-in counselling support and psychiatric assessments via the Emergency Department. Short term counselling supports following discharge from hospital

  2. Vancouver Coastal Health: Adult Mental Health Inpatient Unit

    7 bed acute care unit in a designated facility which provides an integrated multidisciplinary team approach
