Hospital Based Services

  1. Vancouver Coastal Health: Carlile Youth Concurrent Disorders Centre

    The Carlile Centre serves as a “hub” for clinical expertise, accepting referrals from across VCH and filling a gap in the current continuum of care for youth. This expertise, combined with a warm, homelike environment will ensure youth with concurrent disorders benefit from leading-edge, best practice mental health and substance use treatment.

Hospital Based Services

  1. Vancouver Coastal Health: Adult Tertiary Rehabilitation (Sumac Place)

    Sumac Place serves clients from the Sunshine Coast and from throughout Vancouver Coastal Health. This type of care is for adults with complex mental illness who need further supports in order to optimize their independence and quality of life. Clients are stable and require specialized rehabilitation services as they continue on their recovery journey. Stays typically range from six to 24 months.

  2. Vancouver Coastal Health: Adult Tertiary Rehabilitation (Willow 2)

    Provides ongoing treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation in an open setting. The goal is to help individuals improve their level of functioning so they can return to their home community. There are 20 VCH beds

  3. Vancouver Coastal Health: Neuropsychiatry Long Term Stabilization (Alder Place)

    Provides specialized treatment and long term stabilization in a secure setting. The goal is to create individualized care plans that can be implemented in alternate levels of care to optimize functioning and maximize quality of life. There are 10 VCH beds, 10 FH beds.

  4. Vancouver Coastal Health: Psychiatric Intensive Care (Timber Creek)

    To provide short-term intensive care within a highly secure environment. The goal is to enable individual’s behaviours in order to transition to a less restrictive environment. There are 6 VCH beds, 6 FH beds.

  5. Vancouver Coastal Health: Adult Intensive Tertiary Rehabilitation (Willow 4)

    Provides ongoing treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation in an open setting. The goal is to help individuals improve their level of functioning so they can return to their home community. There are 20 VCH beds

  6. Vancouver Coastal Health: Older Adult Intensive Support (Parkview)

    To provide specialized service for older adults with severe behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia in a secure setting. The goal is to create individualized care plans that can be implemented in alternate levels of care to optimize functioning and maximize quality of life.

  7. Provincial Adult Tertiary Eating Disorders Program

    Provincial Specialized Eating Disorders Program

  8. PHSA: Burnaby Centre for Mental Health and Addictions

    A 94-bed facility that provides integrated treatment for adults (19+) with the most severe and complex concurrent disorders in British Columbia. It is the only program of its kind in the province.

  9. PHSA: BC Psychosis Program

    Provides specialized treatment to adults (18+) across the province with a psychotic illness. People may be referred to this 25-bed program when other treatment approaches have not met their needs.
