Child and Adolescent Response Team (CART) - West Broadway
We provide urgent response (within 72 hours), short-term mental health service to school-aged children and youth who are experiencing acute psychiatric or emotional crises. Services include urgent assessment and consultation, clinical intervention, and coordination with community resources. Serves residents of Vancouver. Clients with a private psychiatrist or who are working with a VCH Child and Youth Mental Health team are not eligible for short term treatment. Age range: 5-18 years old

Child and Youth Indigenous Mental Health Outreach
Indigenous Mental Health Outreach provides culturally appropriate mental health counselling to Indigenous youth and their families who have been unable to engage with or access mental health services. Mental health clinicians provide services on an outreach basis in youth's own community environment. Services include initiatives to engage youth in treatment, mental health and psychiatric assessments as well as various forms of therapeutic mental health counselling and treatments.

Gastown Vocational Services
GVS uses a variety of evidence-based practices to foster vocational rehabilitation and mental health recovery. Some of GVS supported employment and education services include: GVS staff collaborates with each person to determine an individualized vocational plan that tailors services to meet their needs and goals. Career exploration can involve an in depth assessment by a clinician and/or supported research and informational interviews. Another example of services is supported education.

Here4Peers
Teams of specially trained high school students, acting as peer facilitators, deliver interactive workshops about mental health awareness to Grade 7 students. The student volunteers work with adult mentors on their presentations, gaining skills like public speaking and leadership, as well as self-confidence and self-esteem. Currently available at David Thompson, Killarney, and Vancouver Technical Secondary School.

Resilient Kids (FACES) - East Hastings Street
We provide group counselling and education to children who have a parent with significant mental illness, and who have established psychiatric support for the parent. Consists of eight 2-hour sessions for a maximum of 12 children. Areas covered in these groups include coping, communication and social skills, mental health education to help children understand their parent's illness, peer support, building self-esteem and confidence, and other recreational and relaxation activities.

Strathcona Mental Health Team
Our Program serves clients over the age of 19 who are diagnosed with a major mental illness and experiencing significant problems that interfere with their functioning in the community. Our multi-disciplinary services are provided through eight mental health teams and a variety of specialized programs. Services are also provided to people who have co-occurring disorders such as personality disorders, substance abuse/misuse, mental challenges, etc. This does not apply to Older Adult Mental Health.
